Haodong Lu
University of New South Wales
I am Haodong Lu, currently in my third year as a PhD student at the University of New South Wales, Australia, under the supervision of Dr. Dong Gong and Prof. Lina Yao, and work closely with CSIRO's Data61 as a scholarship recipient. I am also a recipient of the 2024 Google PhD Fellowship. Before that, I completed both my Honours and BSc. degrees at the University of New South Wales.
My research focuses on Out-of-Distribution Detection and Continual Learning in Computer Vision and Multi-Modal foundation models. I address critical reliability challenges, specifically detecting unseen anomalies and mitigating catastrophic forgetting during sequential post-training. Specializing in prototypical learning, Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT), and Mixture of Experts (MoE), I have a strong track record of publishing in top-tier venues and am passionate about translating advanced research concepts into scalable, real-world solutions.
